Arsenal have confirmed that Mikel Arteta’s squad will take part in a training camp for the men’s first-team squad in Scotland this summer, based in Edinburgh. The camp will run from Monday, July 12th through to Saturday, July 17th, and involves two friendly matches.

On Tuesday, July 13th at 6pm, Arsenal will play Hibernian. Later that week, they’ll face Rangers on Saturday, July 17th.

The new Premier League season doesn’t kick off until August 14th, so there are another few weeks to fill. Let’s take a look at what else has been reported on Arsenal’s summer plans.

Goal and the Daily Mail have both claimed Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur are planning a pre-season charity tournament, with talks ongoing over the size of the crowd allowed at the games.

Arsenal would host Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium, and play Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, then the other two would face each other at Stamford Bridge. This tournament will take place in the first week of August, according to Goal.

But the Arsenal match against Chelsea won’t be the only game at the Emirates Stadium.

There will be no two-day Emirates Cup, but the club are hoping for a high-profile friendly at the Emirates to conclude pre-season (and may call that game the Emirates Cup anyway).

That still leaves a gap between July 17th and the triangular London tournament. The plan for this gap is for Arsenal to have a warm-weather training camp.

They’ve explored a week-long stay in the United States including some games there, but they may end up travelling around Europe instead, with pandemic-related logistical issues still a consideration.

On July 30th, an Arsenal XI will also play away at Hendon Town with a 7.30pm kick-off.

To sum up, let’s take a look at the current basic framework for pre-season.
