As you may have seen at the weekend, Steve Bould was reportedly sacked by Arsenal towards the end of last week, though the club are still yet to announce it.

Training Ground Guru report that Per Mertesacker held a meeting with Bould on Friday to inform him of the decision. It isn’t clear who will take the job next, but there will certainly be some academy coaching changes this summer.

According to the same report, Dan Micciche will be taking over the Arsenal u18s, stepping up from his current position in charge of the u15/16s. This raises questions about Ken Gillard, who managed the u18s this season.

Gillard is reportedly a contender for the u23 job, along with Bould’s assistant Ryan Garry. But it’s still unclear at this stage who will end up in the role next season.

As for why Bould lost his job in the first place, we’ve already taken a look at that in detail, if you want to check it out here.
