Arsenal have posted their latest team news update ahead of the match against Newcastle United on Sunday, and it’s mostly good news.

For a start, there were no further injury setbacks from Thursday’s game. That means recent returners Martin Odegaard and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should be available to make Sunday’s squad – although Aubameyang still clearly isn’t 100% fit yet.

David Luiz is also in contention for the Newcastle match. Kieran Tierney is integrating back into full training and will be assessed ahead of Sunday, but Arsenal aren’t ruling him out, which is encouraging.

Alexandre Lacazette, on the other hand, won’t play a part against Newcastle. He’s still working hard to try and take part in the Villarreal match next Thursday.

If the team manage to avoid any setbacks, it’s possible Mikel Arteta might be able to name his strongest side against Villarreal, which is what the fans will really care about. As for Newcastle, Arteta is hopefully going to rotate a bit anyway.
