Arsenal have signed a 10-year-old called Leo Messo with Per Mertesacker pictured alongside the youngster holding an Arsenal shirt.

Arsenal don’t usually make a habit of publicising the really young players they sign but a photo has come out of the BFG, who runs the Academy, alongside the little chap.

Messo has come to Arsenal from West Ham’s academy as part of the latest intake of youngsters.
No player from Kenya has represented Arsenal at senior level.
Arsenal will, of course, be hoping he goes on to have a career similar to that of the man whose man Messo resembles but the truth is most players at this age rarely go on to make it at the top level. Let’s hope Messo is one of the outliers.
Welcome to Arsenal, Leo!
