El Desmarque report that everything indicates Arsenal will make a move for Guido Rodriguez this summer. Real Betis are very much open to the possibility, hoping to cash in on the midfielder in the upcoming window.

Rodriguez has a contract until 2024 and Betis only bought him for €3m (albeit only for 75% of his rights), so it wouldn’t be hard for them to make a profit on a player whose market value is now reportedly closer to €18m, with an €80m release clause.

El Desmarque and Mundo Deportivo have both previously reported that Arsenal are closely monitoring the midfielder ahead of the summer and intend to push hard for his signature. They’ve had scouts watching him throughout the season.

The Argentina international moved to Spain in January 2020, and he’s quickly become a key part of his new team under Manuel Pellegrini. The defensive midfielder has made 33 appearances this season, helping his club up to sixth in La Liga.

Rodriguez does his best work defensively, with WhoScored listing tackling, blocking, interceptions, and concentration among his key strengths. But he’s also a good dribbler, which helps him escape pressure. We’ll see if the rumours come to anything this summer.
