For most of the season, it has been expected that, when the summer arrives, Alexander Lacazette would be sold as he enters into the final year of his contract.

Now, however, it is being claimed that with the arrival of Richard Garlick to serve as the club’s new director of football operations, one of his first jobs will be to get the Frenchman to sign on the dotted line.

With 17 goals, and three assists, Lacazette has been Arsenal’s most deadly forward this season and it was frustrating to think that, just as he seemed to have finally settled and found himself, the club were going to ship him out.

Of course, a lot of factors will come into play. Will Laca want to stay? Would you, given the state of Arsenal, if you got an offer from Atletico Madrid, the club you wanted to sign for before you arrived at Arsenal because of their transfer ban?

It will certainly be an interesting situation to keep an eye on.
