Mohamed Elneny’s agent claims the player has never thought about leaving Arsenal, and he’ll renew his contract with the club.

Previous reports quoted Mohamed Elneny’s agent Alan Nazmy as saying the player was working on renewing his Arsenal contract and his ambitions were to stay with the club, but he has ‘several offers’ and his future was still to be decided.

However, new quotes from the same source put things in a much more emphatic fashion.

“Elneny will renew his contract with Arsenal. He won’t leave to Galatasaray or Turkey,” Nazmy said (via The S*n). “Elneny has never thought about leaving. He is happy with Arsenal and Arteta trusts him.”

The S*n claim they got these quotes from the “Egyptian press”, but they’re no more specific than that. So I’d still maintain a healthy amount of scepticism, considering the outlet’s record of twisting the truth.

But if the quotes are genuine, then the agent seems pretty convinced of what his client wants to happen. Of course, every contract negotiation requires two sides, so we’ll still have to wait on Arsenal’s view of the situation.

Elneny has made 31 appearances (22 starts) for Arsenal in all competitions this season, but he only has a contract until 2022, so his future is understandably the subject of speculation right now.
