Arsenal announced the results of their Goal of the Month poll for March this week, with Martin Odegaard earning 38.4% of the fan vote.

Odegaard’s 25-yard strike to open the scoring in Athens ended up being vital, as Arsenal won the tie 3-2 on aggregate. It was the first of three away goals on the night to ensure that even the home defeat in the second leg couldn’t stop them from progressing.

Finishing second in the fan vote was the third goal in that same game, another excellent long-range strike – this time from Mohamed Elneny.

In third place, Vivianne Miedema’s fantastic volley in the North London derby earned her a large percentage of the vote.

Three great goals, but it’s nice Odegaard got his hands on the award for his debut effort for the Gunners. Let’s hope there’s plenty more to come in the future.
