Arsenal’s 2021/22 third kit will be inspired by the ‘Blue Lightning’ shirt of the 1990s, according to the latest leaks.

Rather bizarrely, it looks like Adidas are set to take inspiration for their new Arsenal kit from a classic Nike shirt. That’s according to FootyHeadlines, who write that next season’s third kit will be inspired by the ‘Blue Lightning’ shirt from the 90s.

The same outlet report that the colour scheme will be ‘Mystery Blue’, white, and maroon. We also know that the Adidas logo will be two-coloured, with the Adidas lettering in white and the three stripes in red.

The third kit will launch in August 2021, meaning it will likely be the last to be made available to the public. It may be a while yet until we get any official confirmation of the new design.

We’ve already had a more advanced look at the Arsenal home kit for next season, with recent leaks showing a render of the full design. FootyHeadlines have also posted renders of the ‘Pearl Citrine’ away kit.

Whilst the official release is a while away, we should get a similar leak of the full third-kit design soon enough.
