Arsenal academy right-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy has suffered a slight injury. Daily Cannon can confirm that the problem doesn’t look anything too serious, but it was enough to keep him out of the u18 fixture against Chelsea on Tuesday.

Norton-Cuffy is hoping to be back “very soon”, and he watched on as his teammates pulled off a 2-1 comeback win over Chelsea in their midweek u18 Premier League fixture.

The 17-year-old defender picked up the problem in his latest appearance against West Ham United in the FA Youth Cup last Friday. He had provided an assist earlier in the game but was hobbling by the end of the 3-1 victory.

The assist was Norton-Cuffy’s third goal contribution in four games, as he continues to show good form for the u18s.

The youngster also looked more than comfortable playing for the u23s earlier in the season, after a number of injuries opened up a space for him. But due to the strong competition in his position, he dropped back for regular u18 minutes afterwards.

All the same, those performances were enough to earn him a professional contract with the club and a lot of excitement for his future.
