Arsenal’s teams played three matches this weekend and while we all bored ourselves stupid, the women and u18s were putting on a show.
Arsenal 1 Fulham 1
Arsenal returned from their European exploits, changes a number of the starting lineup and promptly played some awful football. This wasn’t helped by the officials deciding to join Arsenal in being rubbish.
As Arsene Wenger said back in 2015, “We were not very good and the referee was at our level.”
Arsenal Starting XI: Ryan, Bellerin, Holding, Gabriel, Xhaka, Elneny, Ceballos, Saka, Smith Rowe, Martinelli, Lacazette
Arsenal women 10 Gillingham women 0
Arsenal women, kicking off just 30 minutes after the men in a move that makes sure the game will not grow its audience, thrashed Gillingham 10-0 to make it through to the next round of the FA Cup.
A Jill Roord hattrick, a first for Anna Patten and goals from Beth Mead (2), Kim Little, Vivianne Miedema, Danielle van de Donk and Jordan Nobbs, saw the Gunners tally up double-figures.

West Ham u18 1 Arsenal u18 3
Arsenal’s u18s played West Ham on Friday in the FA Youth Cup, making their way to the quarter finals. Omari Hutchinson got on the scoresheet once again, sending Arsenal into the break 1-0 up. They doubled their lead just three minutes into the second half thanks to Khayon Edwards.
