Omari Hutchinson provided another assist for the Arsenal u18s over the weekend, as he racks up the goal contributions in his debut campaign.

Despite the mixed fortunes of the Arsenal academy sides this season, there have certainly been some success stories mixed in. Omari Hutchinson has to be one of them, playing his first campaign at u18 level for the Gunners.

Hutchinson was coming off the back of a very strong u16 season, but it’s always a bit of a jump to the u18s. For the first time, you’re playing in a multi-year group facing many players who will already have been playing u18 football for a year or more.

It hasn’t fazed Hutchinson so far. He’s had to play a number of roles, from right-wing to left-back, hence why he seems to be wearing a different number in every clip. Yet he’s consistently contributed to the goalscoring regardless of his position.

In all, Hutchinson has four goals and eight assists in 18 games, making him the Arsenal u18s’ top assister as well as third on the goalscoring charts. That form earned him his first professional contract in November, soon after his 17th birthday.
