Arsenal recently announced the results of their February Goal of the Month award, with Nicolas Pepe earning 28% of the vote in first place. Kieran Tierney’s goal against Benfica and Katie McCabe’s against Aston Villa finished second and third respectively.

Pepe won the award for his finish against Wolves, beating a couple of defenders before curling into the corner on his weaker right foot. You can watch the three goals here.

Pepe has been increasingly growing in fan estimations over the last few months. He currently has four goals in his last seven Premier League starts, and he was arguably the star of Arsenal’s recent win over Leicester City.

He missed a good opportunity against Burnley but saw another attempt deflecting off a defender’s shoulder and onto the bar, as well as having a valid penalty claim waved away. He was certainly unlucky not to find Arsenal a winner in his substitute appearance.

Granit Xhaka recently stated that he believes Pepe has now adapted to English football. The winger faces strong competition for starts on the wing, but he seems to be up for the challenge now.
