The Bundesliga’s official Rookie Award website recently announced the nominees for their February Rookie of the Month. Stuttgart loanee Konstantinos Mavropanos joins VFL Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix and Stuttgart teammate Silas Wamangituka.

Every month, three young players playing their debut Bundesliga campaign are nominated by the league based on objective criteria like goals, assists, and tackling rate. The fans then vote for their winner, which you can do at the Rookie Award link above.

Wamangituka will provide particularly tough competition for Mavropanos, as he has already won the award twice – in November and December.

Among the statistics highlighted for Mavropanos on the site is his duels won percentage, 65.5%, which is in the top-10 in the league, as well as an 85% aerial duel success rate.

The piece also points out Stuttgart’s average points drop from 1.8 to 1.1 when Mavropanos isn’t starting matches for them.

In February, Stuttgart won matches against FC Schalke and FC Koln, drawing with Hertha BSC and losing to Bayer Leverkusen. Mavropanos started all four matches as he finally starts to put a run of games together. Good luck to him in the fan vote!
