Gabriel Martinelli signed a new contract with Arsenal in July 2020, so how much do Arsenal pay Gabriel Martinelli?
Martinelli followed Bukayo Saka’s lead and signed a new deal with the club on 3 July, 2020, with reports suggesting it ties him to Arsenal until 2025.
Martinelli, of course, was already under contract with the club for the long term. He only joined in the summer of 2019, and, depending on which source you believe, either had a contract to 2023 or 2024.
His new deal reportedly takes him to 2024, with a club option to extend to 2025.
That make it the joint-third longest contract at Arsenal along with seven others who joined Martinelli in being contracted until 2024 (Cedric Soares, Pablo Mari, Kieran Tierney, Nicolas Pepe, Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Alex Runarsson,). Thomas Partey and Gabriel are under contract until 2025.
When he first arrived, he signed a deal worth a reported £10kpw but Arsenal are believed to have upped that to around £30kpw, the same as they offered Bukayo Saka, although his pay increase was significantly more than Martinelli’s in terms of what he was on before.
Back in January 2020, it was reported that Arsenal wanted to triple Martinelli’s wages to fend off interest from other clubs including Real Madrid, and it seems that’s exactly what they’ve done.
The young forward has seen his Arsenal career stall somewhat following his knee injury that ended his 19/20 season far too early.
Before that, he had scored 10 goals, with four assists, in just 1,463 minutes. That’s a goal every 146 minutes (Aubameyang scores every 143) and a direct goal involvement every 104.5 minutes.
For Auba, his DGI rate is 131.4.
Not bad for a teenager who arrived as ‘one for the future’.
