Former Arsenal man, and captain on occasion, Stephan Lichtsteiner, is apparently retraining as a watchmaker and I’d suggest he could help out Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but we already know he has a sapphire-encrusted Cartier watch.

As you no doubt know by now, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was benched for the game against Spurs because he was late for the pre-match team meeting. As a result, he will also be fined.

In the run-up to the game, there had been a story about the amount of money Auba spent getting his Cartier watch encrusted with sapphires and other gems, not that it was much help to him.

But perhaps Lichtsteiner could have a word.

“I want to do something productive,” the 37-year-old former Juventus, Lazio and Arsenal defender told Reuters. “If you are a banker … you can do that for all your life, but if you are a footballer once you hit your mid 30s, you have to find something else to do.”

Lichtsteiner is training at Leonard and Massimo Dreifuss.

“We had lots of applications but Stephan was the most enthusiastic,” said art director Leonard Dreifuss.

“We are aiming for a long-term partnership and will move step by step,” said CEO Massimo Dreifuss, when asked if Lichtsteiner would invest in the company.”
