Emi Buendia remains on Arsenal’s radar and the club may look to sign him even if they also bring back Martin Odegaard, according to a report.

Football League World report that after heavy links between Arsenal and Emi Buendia last summer and in the January transfer window, the player remains on Arsenal’s shortlist for the upcoming summer.

Arsenal reportedly may move to sign the 24-year-old permanently even if Martin Odegaard returns on loan.

Buendia is keen on the move, though he’d have to accept he might not play quite such a key role as he does at Norwich. Particularly if he has Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe for competition centrally, and Bukayo Saka and Nicolas Pepe on the right.

As a result, Football League World also suggest it’s possible Buendia might decide to stay with Norwich City for one more season, as they’ll almost certainly be back in the Premier League anyway.

From that point of view, Arsenal could make a much more convincing effort to sign Buendia with European football. They’d have more money to spend and an additional reason for the Argentine to join.

Buendia has 10 goals and 12 assists in the Championship this season. Norwich are comfortably eight points clear at the top thanks partly to his contributions.
