Arsenal are preparing to offload Matteo Guendouzi for £25m when he returns from his loan spell this summer, according to reports.

Football Insider report that Matteo Guendouzi isn’t expected to play for Arsenal next season, with the club already planning to offload him for £25m. Mikel Arteta has reportedly already made it clear the player isn’t in his plans for the future.

Arsenal had reportedly put a £30m price tag on Guendouzi last summer, but that has now dropped to £25m as the midfielder’s contract runs down.

Guendouzi is currently on loan with Hertha BSC, where he’s made 18 appearances, scored two goals, and provided one assist. Hertha are currently battling relegation, so it seems unlikely they’ll have that kind of money to splash on the Arsenal man this summer.

The 21-year-old played the full 90 minutes in every Hertha league game from November 7th to January 23rd, but he’s had more trouble starting under new manager Pál Dárdai.

Guendouzi has made two starts and three substitute appearances under Dárdai, who recently told the media the midfielder needed to mature a bit.

From an Arsenal point of view, it would be great to see him turning things around in the remainder of the season, even if it’s only to secure that £25m in the summer.
