Club Brugge defender Odilon Kossounou would cost Arsenal closer to €20m than £8.5m, according to reports in the local media.

Recent reports in England linked 20-year-old centre-back Odilon Kossounou with a move from Club Brugge to Arsenal, setting the price at around £8.5m with add-ons. However, Belgian outlet Voetbal Belgie give a very different valuation.

Though the Belgian outlet repeat that Arsenal are interested, they also name Wolves, Inter Milan, and AC Milan in the race for the player. They also claim Club Brugge will want a transfer fee of at least €20m.

Gervinho and Emmanuel Eboue have reportedly given Arsenal glowing references for the Ivory Coast international. Kossounou made his debut for the country last October, appearing in each of their last four games.

Nicolas Pepe was also involved in all four of those matches, so he’ll be able to give his opinion on the signing as well.

Kossounou is a right-centre-back, which could appeal to Mikel Arteta. The vast majority of Arsenal’s best current options seem to be more comfortable on the left.

Club Brugge paid €3.8m for Kossounou in 2019, and they have him signed up to a contract lasting until 2024.
