The Mirror report that there’s interest in Folarin Balogun from various European clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, including Bayer Leverkusen, Stuttgart, and Rennes.

The player will be available for a training compensation fee, with his Arsenal deal expiring at the end of the campaign.

The club are trying to extend his contract, and hope to persuade him to stay. But the 19-year-old is unwilling to commit and talks have dragged on for a very long time now.

Mikel Arteta insists Balogun wants to stay, citing information from as recently as last week that the striker wants to be in North London. Whether that optimism is well-placed, we’ll find out in the coming months.

Balogun received a nomination for the Premier League 2’s January Player of the Month award after his hat-trick and assist against Brighton u23s last month. However, he doesn’t have a goal or assist in three matches against Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester United since then.

Including his senior appearances, Balogun has 10 goals and three assists in 21 games this season.
