Guendouzi celebrates 2nd Hertha goal with an announcement

Matteo Guendouzi scored the second goal of his loan spell with Hertha BSC on Saturday, celebrating by announcing his wife’s pregnancy.

In Hertha’s first game of 2021 this weekend, they faced the Bundesliga’s bottom side – FC Schalke 04. Matteo Guendouzi opened the scoring for them in the new year with a nice curling finish from just inside the penalty area.

The ball fell to Guendouzi on the rebound, and he did well to get it out of his feet and find a finish. It was the opener in a 3-0 victory for the home side, and you can watch the goal here.

Afterwards, the 21-year-old celebrated by putting a ball under his shirt and sucking his thumb, revealing his wife’s pregnancy. GFFN later confirmed she is expecting a baby girl.

So it’s good news all around for Guendouzi right now, both on a personal and a professional level.

Hertha have had mixed results since the Arsenal midfielder joined them, winning three, drawing four and losing two, and they sit 12th in the table right now. But they’re happy with Guendouzi’s individual performances so far. Long may that continue.
