The 25-year-old midfielder, who has scored three and assisted eight in 20 appearances this season has caught the eye of some top clubs across Europe with AC Milan the latest to cast an admiring glance westwards.

Arsenal, however, have already been linked with him. Along with Leicester, Record reports that Otávio has been ‘placed on the route’ of both clubs.

An attacking midfielder, this would seem more like a move for the summer if anything was to come of it. Arsenal are about to bring in Martin Odegaard on loan for the rest of the season and, while they will be hopeful of inserting an option to buy in that agreement, it is highly unlikely to happen.

That means by the time the summer rolls round Arsenal will likely be back in the market for another attacking midfielder.

It will be interesting to see if Otávio is still on Arsenal’s ‘route’ then.

Otávio is currently valued at around £16.2m and will be available for free in the summer.
