As Sylvain wrote earlier this week, it was clear Arsenal were going to turn to signing British players due to problems with Brexit and a need to meet homegrown rules. He suggested they re-sign the defender and that’s exactly what they’ve done.
Patten starred for Arsenal during the Spring Series before heading to America. She played in every game alongside Lotte Wubben-Moy, who has also returned to the club.
Speaking in 2019, Patten told us in an exclusive, “When I was thinking of going to Florida State (prior to the Spring Series) it was because I was not making the step to the first team and I knew quite a few players had.
“At the time, when I was getting opportunities in the first team and playing every single minute in the Spring Series, which was an amazing experience, it was harder to leave. But I knew at the time it was a good decision.”
Patten’s return follows an end to her studies in America.
