Reiss Nelson picked up what was described a ‘minor’ injury following a clash of heads in training but that was 23 days ago, so where is he?

On 7 December, it was reported that Reiss Nelson had suffered a minor head injury but it wasn’t expected that he would be sidelined for too long. At the same time, Arsenal also reported that Sead Kolasinac had picked up an injury in training, but as they gave no details about that injury, most assumed he’d been the one to bump noggins with Nelson.

Kolasinac is back in action but Nelson is still nowhere to be found. Not only that, the club aren’t even giving updates about him.

It seems as if Nelson is fit and recovered from the problem but was just left out of the squad entirely on Tuesday night when they travelled to Manchester.

He was also left out of the squad that beat Chelsea on Boxing Day and the squad for the game against Brighton:

Nelson has two goals and one assist this season in nine appearances. The 21-year-old currently averages around 54 minutes per game.

In other words, if Nelson was playing the full 90, he could one of our most dangerous players given our two top scorers this season only have five so far.
