David Ornstein reports for The Athletic that Arsenal still have no agreement with Folarin Balogun over a new contract at this stage. Talks are still ongoing, and the door is open for him to sign, but there’s still a big distance between the two parties.

At this stage, it looks likely Balogun will leave as a free agent. Liverpool are interested, but the most appealing route to the player is a move to Germany. He can speak to foreign clubs in January when the transfer window opens.

The Beautiful Game Podcast recently reported that the academy striker is attracting interest from both Germany and Italy. Like Ornstein, they confirmed he’s open to a move abroad if he doesn’t extend his Arsenal deal.

Despite making four substitute appearances with the Arsenal first team in the Europa League group stage, Balogun is still featuring more regularly with the u23s for now.

He scored against Leicester City last Friday, his sixth goal contribution in 10 PL2 games this season. He also has two goals and an assist in five appearances for the first team.
