After another busy day of fixtures, let’s take a look at how the Arsenal loanees did on Tuesday night.

Starting off with the players who weren’t involved, Tom Smith and Dover Athletic have had to cancel their planned matches recently after a Covid outbreak. They last played on the 21st of November, and Tuesday’s match against Wealdstone was postponed.

Trae Coyle and Daniel Ballard are both absent with injury right now, though neither issue seems particularly serious. Dejan Iliev is fit but wasn’t in Shrewsbury Town’s squad on Tuesday. Zech Medley was on the bench for Gillingham but didn’t feature.

Mark McGuinness was the only Arsenal loanee to complete 90 minutes in a win on Tuesday, as Ipswich Town beat Burton Albion 2-1. James Olayinka came pretty close, playing the first 89 minutes of a key victory for Southend United over Grimsby Town.

Tyreece John-Jules started and helped Doncaster Rovers go 2-0 up over Swindon Town before coming off with 11 minutes left. Matt Smith was playing for the opposition and completed 90 minutes in the eventual 2-1 defeat.

Tolaji Bola dropped to the bench for Rochdale, but he came off with 17 minutes to go and his team 4-0 up. They ended up adding a fifth before the final whistle.

Matteo Guendouzi played the full 90 in a frustrating draw with Mainz, following his goal for Hertha at the weekend. Elsewhere in the Bundesliga, Konstantinos Mavropanos played the first 53 minutes for Stuttgart, coming off with his team 1-0 down to Union Berlin.

Mavropanos also came off early in the last game, so it doesn’t appear to be an injury concern. It seems Stuttgart are just managing his minutes after his recent fitness problems.

Finally, Harry Clarke played the full match as Oldham Athletic lost 3-2 to Walsall.

Overall, not the most exciting day for Arsenal loanees. No goals or assists this time, nor any clean sheets for starting defenders or goalkeepers. All the same, Olayinka, McGuinness, John-Jules, and Bola will be happy to have helped their teams record victories.
