Layth Yousif of the Gooner reports that Arsenal will battle Leeds United for the signature of Shakhtar winger Manor Solomon. The Ukrainian club have already turned down an offer of €20m from Atalanta, and Leeds are pushing harder for the deal right now.

Solomon is making a good start to the 2020-21 campaign, with five goals and an assist in nine starts. He was most impressive in the Champions League games against Real Madrid, scoring both home and away against the European giants.

Not only did the 21-year-old get himself on the scoresheet in those games, but he also proved himself an effective ball carrier, completing all six of the dribbles he attempted.

With Israel, Solomon has a goal and four assists in 14 appearances (11 starts). That one goal came in his most recent appearance, as he scored the winner against Scotland in November.

The winger looks like a talented prospect, but it doesn’t appear he’s going to come cheap.

If Arsenal have to offer more than €20m just to get negotiations going, they’d be better off investing that money in their midfield. They have Nicolas Pepe, Reiss Nelson, and Gabriel Martinelli out wide, as well as current starters Bukayo Saka and Willian.
