Arsenal were set to face Chelsea in the u18 Premier League on Saturday, but they had to postpone the fixture after an outbreak of Covid cases in the Chelsea camp.

Arsenal are no strangers to this situation, as we exclusively revealed they’d have to postpone an u18 game against Reading last month due to one case forcing nine players into isolation.

The young Gunners will be disappointed they don’t get the chance to carry their recent form into what is always a tough game against Chelsea. They won their cup tie against Rotherham on Tuesday and four of their last five in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Chelsea lost their last two league matches to Fulham and Aston Villa, though they did thrash Barnsley in the cup game in between.

We’ll have to wait and see when the postponed game takes place, but it looks like we’re bringing a premature end to the 2020 catalogue of academy fixtures. The u18s will now go on their winter break.
