20-year-old Arsenal-linked striker Brenner is available for €12m in the January transfer window, according to a report.

Mike Verweij of Dutch outlet Telegraaf claims Brenner has been offered to Ajax for €12m plus bonuses. According to previous reports, Arsenal are one of the other teams in the race for the striker, in what now looks like a cut-price deal.

Calciomercato.it recently reported that Arsenal joined Ajax, Juventus, Lazio, AC Milan, and Paris Saint-Germain in following the young Brazilian forward.

The player is of particular interest to European clubs because he has the potential to get an Italian passport through his maternal ancestry.

If you remember, that’s the same way Gabriel Martinelli avoided needing a work permit to join Arsenal. Although the rules are likely to be different in the UK post-Brexit transition.

Brenner has 22 goals and four assists in 37 appearances for Sao Paulo this year. He’s represented his country at various youth levels, but he’s still waiting for a senior call-up.

For the time being, Brenner will be fully focused on his current team. In the early hours of Thursday morning (00:30 GMT) Sao Paulo are looking to overturn a 1-0 semi-final deficit in the second leg of their cup semi-final against Gremio.

After that, the January transfer window will open and we may well see the youngster travelling to Europe.
