Mohamed Elneny has tested positive for Covid-19 after his international teammate, Mo Salah caught the virus while away with Egypt.
Elneny’s agent Alan Nazmy confirmed the news, tweeting from his official account to say, “Elneny positive Cov19 get well soon.”

Elneny was with the Egyptian squad ahead of their Afcon qualifier in Togo.
He will now be required to self-isolate and will, you imagine, miss Arsenal’s upcoming games against Leeds and Molde.
We wish him a speedy and full recovery as we await an update from Arsenal.
Mohamed Elneny and Mohamed Salah
Elneny has previously spoken about how close he is with the Liverpool man, calling him ‘his brother’ so it would seem likely that’s where the midfielder has picked up his infection.
It was announced last week that Mo Salah had contracted the virus and he is currently in quarantine ahead of a second test which will take place on Thursday.
“Salah is currently in El-Gouna to complete his quarantine and he will conduct another PCR test on Thursday, and I expect that his result will be negative because until now, the player hasn’t shown any symptoms,” he said
It is believed Salah had attended his brother’s wedding in Cairo on the Monday before his diagnosis. He was also handed an award by the Egyptian FA at a ceremony in the same city two days later.
