The Arsenal u21s take on Gillingham in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday, pushing to finish top of the group with a draw or a win in the fixture. However, before learning the group stage draw, Arsenal loaned two players to Gillingham.

Both Trae Coyle and Zech Medley are currently on loan at the Kent club. Medley is a regular starter, making 13 appearances without coming off the bench once. Coyle is also on 13 appearances, but only six starts so far.

Gillingham boss Steve Evans confirms both can play against the Arsenal u21s on Tuesday, without any eligibility issues as a result of the loan. You’d imagine they’ll be keen to make an impression, despite playing against their own club.

In more general terms, Evans warned to expect rotation for the EFL Trophy clash. He thinks Arsenal will give them a game though.

“We will make multiple changes as there is some lads deserving of starting games and this is a great opportunity for them to show they should be starting games on a regular basis,” Evans said.

“We will work on a team and a system to take on a very talented Arsenal team who have already beaten Ipswich in this competition.”

There will be some changes on the Arsenal end too, due to international call-ups. You can check out our predicted lineup for the clash here. The game will be live on iFollow, but it costs £10 to purchase a stream.
