A couple of years on from his move from Arsenal to Everton, Walcott accepted a loan transfer to Southampton this summer. It was 14 years since he last played for the club, but he hasn’t taken long to settle back in, about as long as it takes to get Free Credit.

Southampton are yet to lose a game with Walcott in the side, and his Premier League record with them so far is very promising. The 31-year-old may have taken four games to grab his first goal, but he already had two assists, one away at Stamford Bridge.

Walcott’s goal this weekend gave the Saints the lead against Wolves. It was a relatively simple finish, but one you only get by anticipating the chance and getting there ahead of the defender, which the former Gunner did expertly.

You can watch the goal here from 1:25. Walcott perhaps should’ve had another not long afterwards, running clear on goal and putting his shot just wide, and unfortunately for him, Wolves subsequently came back into the game to draw 1-1.

All the same, it’s a strong start from Walcott in a high-flying Southampton side. It’s hard not to feel glad for the former Arsenal man after his 398 appearances in North London.
