William Saliba won’t go to Stade Rennais but he may still move on loan in the coming days with Fulham after him and Arsenal offering him to Leeds United.

Goal wrote on Friday that Arsenal were likely to let William Saliba leave on loan for regular first-team experience this summer, with Rennes in talks.

However, RMC Sport (via GFFN) later reported that Daniele Rugani would join Rennes on loan from Juventus instead. As a result, the Saliba move is off. But Arsenal are still willing to loan the player, with Germany and English sides after him.

Le10Sport claim Fulham and Leeds United are two of the teams after the defender. It would be a bit of a surprise to see Leeds sign him, given they’ve already brought in Diego Llorente and Robin Koch this summer, but Fulham definitely want a centre-back.

The Daily Mail then added that Arsenal are in discussions with Leeds regarding the move, claiming Arsenal offered the player to them.

Arsenal already have a loan relationship with Fulham as well, sending Calum Chambers there in 2018/19. Even though it didn’t work out for the club, as they went down, Chambers played regularly and won their Player of the Season award.

Fulham are also yet to play any of the big-six other than Arsenal. Helping to strengthen their backline before those games is no bad thing.

Foot Mercato also claim Marseille are also in for Saliba, though Le10Sport write that they couldn’t confirm that information. Whichever clubs are in for him, it looks like the possibility of a loan exit is growing.
