Kevin De Bruyne is a doubt for the Manchester City match against Arsenal at the weekend, after withdrawing from the Belgium squad with an injury.

The Belgium National Team report that Kevin De Bruyne returned to Manchester City earlier this week, as he couldn’t get fit enough to face Iceland. Sky Sports add that the midfielder is now a doubt to play against Arsenal this weekend.

If you’re reading this rolling your eyes, you’re not alone. It’s very convenient De Bruyne was available to play in the big game against England but is now unfit for Iceland – a game Belgium can probably win without him anyway.

No doubt De Bruyne will be healthy and firing on all cylinders by the weekend.

Raheem Sterling also pulled out of international duty recently, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him in the starting lineup against Arsenal either. Officially, Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus are also not quite back from injury yet.

Pep Guardiola will speak to the media on Friday afternoon, so we’ll get an update on all of them then. Don’t get your hopes up, though.
