Arsenal report that both Dani Ceballos and Emile Smith Rowe are fit again after their recent injury issues.

Ceballos came off after 68 minutes against Liverpool on Thursday with a tight thigh. Mikel Arteta withdrew the player amid fears of an injury, but the midfielder recovered well and rejoined first-team training. He’s available for selection against Sheffield United.

Smith Rowe picked up a shoulder injury in August, but he’s also now back in full training. He had to wear a protective sling at first before the club eased him back into action. It’s unlikely he’ll feature against Sheffield United, but he’s available again.

The main boost of having Smith Rowe back is that he’s fit in time for the Europa League group stage. Arsenal have a favourable draw, giving them plenty of opportunities to settle Smith Rowe in.

That will be crucial, given the busy fixture list after the international break. Arsenal play weekend, midweek, weekend, midweek, weekend, midweek and weekend immediately after the break.

Essentially, there are no midweeks off until the next international break in mid-November. Arteta absolutely needs a fit squad.

There was talk of interest in a loan move for Smith Rowe, but it seems Arsenal want to keep him.
