Arsenal loanee, Zech Medley earned praise from fans for his display in a 3-1 win with Gillingham on Saturday, the latest in a good run of appearances.

Medley made his eighth appearance as an Arsenal loanee in the 2020/21 season on Saturday, in another win for Gillingham.

The centre-back put in another busy performance for his loan side, making 12 clearances, two interceptions, two tackles and blocking a shot without letting anyone dribbled past him once.

Medley also won three of his four individual duels, completed eight of 12 long balls and even created a chance. The Gillingham fans enjoyed his display.

With praise like that, it’s no surprise Medley started four of Gillingham’s five league games so far. However, fellow loanee Trae Coyle isn’t spending quite as much time on the pitch for Gillingham right now.

Although he’s actually made the same number of appearances (eight) and scored a couple of goals, he’s only completed the full 90 on three occasions, two in the EFL Trophy. He didn’t come off the bench for the team against Oxford United.

It’s early days, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. He’ll get more chances in the coming weeks and months, it’s just a matter of taking them.
