Tyreece John-Jules and Trae Coyle were among the Arsenal loanees to feature in league games for their clubs on Saturday, and both of them capped their performances with goals.

John-Jules was making his second appearance for Doncaster, and he got off the mark with a lovely individual goal against Charlton.

Picking up the ball on the right of the box, there seemed little on for the striker. But he shifted past one defender and held off a challenge from another before rifling the ball high into the net. Rovers won the match 3-1.

Coyle already netted his first goal for Gillingham in his first start in the EFL Trophy. However, like John-Jules, he was yet to get off the mark in League One until Saturday.

Playing against Wigan, the winger picked up the ball just inside the box and curled a lovely first-time finish into the corner. The goal made it 3-1, and with Wigan quickly pulling one back, it ended up being the difference between the two sides.

You can watch the goal from 1:27 in the below highlight package:

It’s always good to get a confidence booster early on in a loan spell, and goals are perfect for that. Particularly when they’re so nicely taken in a couple of wins.

Gillingham face Stoke City next in the League Cup on Wednesday. Doncaster have to wait until Saturday for their league game against Bristol Rovers, having exited the cup before John-Jules made his debut.
