Speaking on his Ask Ornstein podcast, David Ornstein suggested there are a lot of clubs following Sead Kolasinac this summer. He also believes the player would welcome a departure.

Rumours in recent weeks suggest the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke are in the race for the Arsenal left-back.

“There seems to have been plenty of interest in Kolasinac,” Ornstein said. “I do think he would be open to a move.”

Bild claimed Schalke wanted to sign Kolasinac on an initial loan deal with an option to buy. They also wanted Arsenal to share the cost of the player’s salary on the loan, in addition to a wage cut.

The Gunners will hope that Leverkusen are more open to a permanent transfer. That’s what Arsenal are looking for, after all, anyone to offer good money to raise funds for their summer business.

Kolasinac is the kind of player they can afford to move on this summer. He isn’t homegrown, he’s competing with Kieran Tierney and Ainsley Maitland-Niles (and Bukayo Saka) for a spot, and his age and contract to 2022 make it a good time to sell.
