Gabriel took part in Arsenal training on Tuesday, showing the clearest sign yet that the Brazilian defender is in contention to play some part against Fulham on Saturday.

Arsenal announced Gabriel’s arrival on 1 September and, as per UK government guidelines, he had to spend 14 days in quarantine as he had not yet returned to his Elite Sports Bubble with Lille, unlike Dani Ceballos who had returned to training with Real Madrid.

We know that Gabriel was granted special dispensation to attend London Colney to undergo his medical on 24 August which would mean he completed his 14 day period in isolation on Monday 7 September if he was locked away after he passed said medical.

That would fit with Arsenal.com releasing photos of Gabriel training with his teammates for the first time on Tuesday 8 September.

Given that he has only just joined his first team training, it seems unlikely Gabriel will start at Craven Cottage on Saturday, but stranger things have happened.
