Martinelli picked up a knee injury back in June that will rule him out for the remainder of 2020.

The young Brazilian, who lit up the Emirates after his arrival in the summer, underwent surgery to correct the problem and then spent some time back in Brazil as he recovered.

He’s been back at Arsenal’s London Colney Training Centre since the start of September and is making good progress.

Gabriel was still in a knee brace at the end of July and is not expected to return to full training until the end of 2020.

He will then need time to regain full match fitness meaning we won’t see him play for Arsenal until 2021.
