Arsenal travel to Leicester in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday looking to make it 3 wins from 3, so who is not fit to play?
Arsenal played West Ham on Saturday, losing Kieran Tierney to a hip problem before the game kicked off.
Speaking after Arsenal stole the points from the Hammers, Mikel Arteta confirmed the club didn’t think the issue was serious and it was more of a cautionary move, but Tierney has problems in this area and it’s certainly something to keep an eye on.
He is expected back in full training before the weekend.
David Luiz was back on the bench after his neck spasms sorted themselves out.
Cedric Soares is also ruled out as he has a calf problem but the club claim this is merely a ‘precaution’.
Others who were already out, Pablo Mari (ankle), Gabriel Martinelli (knee), Shkodran Mustafi (hamstring), Sokratis (calf/transferitis), Emile Smith Rowe (shoulder), and Calum Chambers (knee) will not feature.
Pablo Mari
Expected back in training at the end of September.
Gabriel Martinelli
Expected back in training in December.
Shkodran Mustafi
Expected back in training at the end of September.
Sokratis
Has a mild calf strain that was only expected to keep him out against Fulham. Is likely to be sold and it’s unclear if he actually is injured or, like Lucas Toreirra, being kept safe for sale. Arsenal’s latest update basically says what it has been saying since the start of the season, ‘aiming to be back in full training this week.’
Emile Smith Rowe
Was expected back in training at the end of last week, then that was moved to the end of this week, now it’s ‘within the next 10 days’ which would take us to 2 October.
Calum Chambers
Expected back in training in October.
