Arsenal took on Queens Park Rangers in a behind-closed-doors friendlies on Tuesday. The game took place at London Colney and neither club showed a stream with Arsenal asking QPR not to show the game.

Arsenal won the match 4-3 and the QPR site mentions that Arsenal put out a strong team but don’t detail who played for Mikel Arteta’s side, nor who scored. Miguel Azeez was believed to be with the squad.

Arsenal initially went a goal down before firing back to make it 3-1. QPR made it 3-3 before Arsenal won the game.

Per Charles Watts, it was the first of two, possibly three friendlies planned between now and the Premier League season opener against Fulham next week.

Following the Community Shield win at the weekend, Willian, Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe and Mesut Özil all returned to Colney on Monday. They’re likely to play some part in the QPR friendly as they try to build their fitness.

Obviously, the players who started against MK Dons and Liverpool are the most likely to keep their places for Fulham. They’ll have four or five games under their belts by next Saturday and they helped their cases at Wembley.

Still, you’d expect to see the likes of Lacazette and Pepe pushing for a start. They finished the 2019/20 campaign strongly alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Watts adds that Gabriel Magalhaes took part in COVID testing on Monday. Despite signing for Arsenal a week ago, he’s still in quarantine, which is presumably why the club only just announced his arrival.

He did not take part in Tuesday’s friendly.
