Thanks to the German season restarting early, they’re in a much better position to begin the 2020/21 campaign. Mavropanos is already back in pre-season training with Stuttgart, just days after Arsenal’s season ended.

Mavropanos posted on Twitter after completing his first session, writing that he’s happy to meet his new teammates and staff.

Funnily enough, the Bundesliga are still planning to start later than the Premier League. Their current return date is September 18th, a week after the English league season gets back underway. The difference is they’ll have proper preparation for it.

By comparison, Arsenal will only have 12 days between their pre-season preparations starting and the Community Shield. Then they have an international break between that and their first league match.

None of that matters to Mavropanos, however. For him, the important thing is that he’s getting the chance to settle in with his new teammates now. By the time the new season rolls around, that should put him in a good position to impress.

It’s a key year for the 22-year-old, hopefully playing regularly in one of Europe’s top-five leagues for the first time. If he can impress against the top teams in Germany, he’ll put himself in a great position for a future with Arsenal.
