Francesco Porzio reports that both Torino and Fiorentina are in talks with Arsenal over Lucas Torreira. Though those conversations are clearly ongoing, they’re hoping for an agreement in the coming weeks. Porzio is positive they’ll find one.

La Nazione (via Football-Italia) reported on Sunday that Fiorentina were ‘confident’ they can secure the signing of Torreira in the coming days. They’re pushing for an €8.5m loan with an €18m option to buy, as per previous reports.

The outlet claim Roma remain in the running for the player, as well as Torino. The Roma rumours seem to be dying down this week, however, as reports on the other two clubs pick up the pace.

La Stampa add that Arsenal would much prefer a single cash payment of €25-30m for the player. As in the LN report, Fiorentina prefer the loan with an option, and Torino get a mention here too.

Firenze Viola report that Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade and CEO Joe Barone are working hard to bring Torreira to Florence. The competition is reportedly intense, and the club aren’t yet at Arsenal’s asking price.

They expect the deal could go through in the near future if Fiorentina come back with another bid.

The player’s agent originally said there was still nothing official on the table. But Porzio claims the representative is now taking part in talks with Arsenal, Fiorentina and Torino over the transfer.
