Arsenal have reportedly offered Matteo Guendouzi plus cash to Lyon in a bid to sign Houssem Aouar with Edu making the call himself.

The French publication, L’Equipe, report that Arsenal recently made an approach to sign the 22-year-old Houssem Aouar and were willing to part with both Matteo Guendouzi and some actual cash in order to land the player.

Although Manchester City are interested in a player described as a ‘dainty line-breaker’ they have not made any contact ahead of their Champions League meeting with Lyon on Saturday evening.
The only club to make contact regarding Aouar is Arsenal. L’Equipe report it was Edu who made the offer verbally via the phone.
Sadly, Lyon are not interested in any sort of swap deal, no doubt unwilling to accept Matteo Guendouzi and the problems with authority he seems to bring with him wherever he goes.
The official reason is that Lyon just want cash for Houssem Aouar and don’t actually need a midfielder. It was reported back in July that Lyon were interested in signing Guendouzi if they lost Aouar, however.
Now Lyon say they just want cold, hard cash, even if Aouar does leave.
