Speaking on his Instagram live, Willy Aubameyang hinted that there might be some movement on a contract extension for his brother next Monday or Tuesday, admitting he’ll be in London but refusing to say why.

“I am coming to London on Monday or Tuesday,” Willy Aubameyang admitted. “But I don’t tell you for what.”

Some of you may remember that Willy was present for Aubameyang’s initial Arsenal signing announcement. The player’s father posted a picture on Instagram of them all together as he signed the contract.

Perhaps the family are planning to take similar pictures after a contract extension.

Mikel Arteta said he’s ‘very positive’ about the club captain signing a new deal in his post-Community Shield press conference. Aubameyang added that he’s ‘really happy’ at Arsenal during an ‘exciting time’ for the club, but wouldn’t confirm he’s signing.

Fabrizio Romano claims Arsenal consider the agreement almost ‘reached and completed’ and adds the player turned down two other bids to stay with the Gunners.

It’s all looking good for an announcement next week, but we’ve been here before. We’ll all breathe a sigh of relief when we see those official photos from Arsenal.
