Real Madrid are likely to ask for around €25m (£22.6m) for Dani Ceballos this summer, with Arsenal, Valencia and Real Betis in the running for the midfielder.

Marca claim Real Madrid value Dani Ceballos highly, and will ask for around €25m for him this summer. Arsenal are in the race for the player along with Valencia and Ceballos’ former club Real Betis, and the Gunners are apparently ‘ready to bid’.

This is actually a fairly significant reduction from the asking price in March, which was reportedly around €40m. Obviously, the worldwide financial situation is playing a part, as no one chasing Ceballos has the budget for a €40m move for him anymore.

Ceballos is open to a transfer, but only if Zinedine Zidane keeps his job in Madrid. Otherwise, the player may well try his luck at convincing the new manager to give him gametime.

€25m is actually a fairly reasonable price, and one Arsenal may be able to afford if they move one or two players on this summer. With the club exploring summer sales for current midfield squad options like Matteo Guendouzi and Ainsley Maitland-Niles, it’s possible.

Personally, I still wouldn’t have Ceballos as my number-one priority signing. I think Arsenal primarily need to add goals and assists in midfield this summer. But for that price, Ceballos is in great form and may well prove worth the money.
