Victor Osimhen is still hoping to receive an offer from Arsenal or Manchester United, despite closing in on a full agreement with Napoli, according to reports.

Football-Italia claim Lille forward Victor Osimhen is still hoping for a Premier League offer from Manchester United or Arsenal. They cite Calciomercato.it and their sources in Nigeria that Osimhen is stalling on a potential move to Napoli as a result.

The Serie A club are trying to complete a deal for Osimhen, inviting him to visit their facilities this week and showing him around the city. They’re still trying to convince him to accept the move, as he isn’t sure about playing in Italy.

Instead, he’s hoping he could potentially replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Arsenal if the Gunners’ star striker leaves this summer.

But with little progress on that front, Osimhen is promising to give Napoli an answer by Tuesday. It’s hard to imagine Arsenal making a major bid before then. Though they could at least inform him of whether they plan to or not.

Lille boss Christophe Galtier claimed in June he already knew Osimhen was leaving. It was just a matter of figuring out the destination. The 21-year-old Nigeria international scored 18 goals and assisted six before French football’s suspension.
