Mesut Ozil has reportedly spent the last few days in Turkey and will not, you will all be shocked to hear, form part of Arsenal’s FA Cup final squad for Saturday’s game against Chelsea.

If that doesn’t floor you, then I know you’re going to be gobsmacked to learn that Matteo Guendouzi won’t be involved either.

Craziness, huh?

Of course, nobody expected either player to feature, so none of this is actually a surprise.

The club are trying to get Mesut Ozil to leave, for reasons people aren’t entirely sure about, while he’s made it clear he’s not going anywhere.

What we do know is that the situation is an absolute shambles.

Rather than act like a grownup, Matteo Guendouzi has decided he’d be better off heading to another club after yet another falling out with a head coach despite only being 21 and a nobody two years ago.

His attitude will determine how far he goes in this game and, at present, that isn’t going to be very far. Then again, perhaps Guendouzi knows best and really is too good to do what Arteta asks of him.

Time will tell, I guess.

Arsenal are trying to use him as a makeweight for a number of deals if press reports are to be believed and he could be one of around six players to leave Arsenal this summer.

In other news, Arsenal have reportedly been training this week with Kieran Teirney as part of a back three.
