Jordan Henderson will miss the Premier League champions game against Arsenal in midweek after picking up a ligament injury that rules him out of the rest of the season and puts the start of next season in doubt.

Henderson picked up the injury in Liverpool’s 3-1 win at Brighton on Wednesday and Jurgen Klopp confirmed that his captain would miss their final four games of the season against Burnley, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle.

Scan results show damage that is likely to keep him out of action for around two months.

Henderson has played in 30 of Liverpool’s 34 league games this season and the reds are just eight points from 100 for the season.

Arsenal, on the other hand, sit way back in eighth place as I write this, some 42 points behind Klopp’s side who finally ended their 30-year wait for a league title this year.

We are, however, somehow, a point ahead of Spurs going into this weekend’s derby match
